2023-07-27

Females are as excellent as their male peers!

In recent years, although the recovery of the shipping industry has been sluggish, especially this year, the sky of the shipping industry has become more cloudy due to the impact of the COVID-19.
However, in recent years, the shipping industry has also begun to show a glimmer of brilliance - there are more and more female crew members.
Especially since the International Maritime Organization (IMO) explicitly stated "empowering women in the maritime industry", more and more shipping companies have begun to focus on developing female crew members.

In July 2023, Lise Henriksen embarks on the next leg of her extraordinary seafaring journey as she boards Bow Sky as Captain. By that, she is writing history in the 109-year-old Norwegian chemical tanker company.

The female crew of the MT Swarna Krishna:

The captain of the full command of the ship is named Suneha Gadpande, she is India's first female merchant ship captain, has been awarded by the International Maritime Organization IMO and the Indian state many times, and during the International Women's Day this year, she once again won the "Woman Power Award" awarded by the Indian state, and was praised by the President of India.

At present, China has 239,000 registered female sailors, accounting for 15.2% of the total number of sailors!

Kong Qingfen, the first female ocean ship captain trained by China itself. She loved the sea, never married, and devoted her life to the navigation cause of the motherland.
