Intelligent ships: Intelligent ships have become a new focus of research and development in the international maritime industry. By integrating modern information technology, artificial intelligence technology and other new technologies with traditional ship technology, intelligent ship can achieve the purpose of safety, reliability, energy saving, environmental protection, economy and efficiency.

Seven key technologies help realize six intelligent modules

According to China Classification Society's "Intelligent Ship Code", the intelligent module of intelligent ships is divided into six parts: intelligent navigation, intelligent hull, intelligent engine room, intelligent energy efficiency management, intelligent cargo management and intelligent integration platform. The seven technologies of information perception technology, communication and navigation technology, energy efficiency control technology, route planning technology, condition monitoring and fault diagnosis technology, distress early warning and rescue technology, and autonomous navigation technology play an important role in the six modules, providing a strong guarantee for the normal operation of intelligent ships.

Ship automation is a multi-functional integrated system integrating engine room automation, navigation automation, information integration and loading automation. It uses computers to carry out intelligent management of the whole ship. Its operation is reliable, it can detect faults in advance, determine preventive maintenance and repair, ensure safe operation, improve working conditions, reduce labor intensity, and reduce the number of crew members. Improve the economic efficiency of ship operation.

After successfully completing full-scale testing of all six different ship types and conditions at the beginning of last year, the second phase of the Japanese unmanned ship project "MEGURI2040" was officially launched, bringing together 51 enterprises from different industries in Japan, including shipowners, shipyards, equipment manufacturers, industry associations, and financial institutions, to collaborate and achieve the full commercialization of fully autonomous navigation ships by 2025, And lead global independent ship technology innovation.
The second phase of the "MEGURI2040" unmanned vessel project has been launched and will be fully commercialized by 2025
On July 20th, the Nippon Foundation held a seminar on the "MEGURI2040" project, which introduced the overview and goals of the second phase of the project. At this stage, the "DFFAS+(Designing the Future of Fully Autonomous Ships Plus)" alliance, composed of 51 Japanese companies, will work together under the supervision of a Japanese consortium to fundamentally change the offshore shipping industry and lead international competition in autonomous ship technology.
Japan's three major shipping giants lead the way, with 51 Japanese companies participating in "cross industry" cooperation
It is understood that the 51 member companies of the DFFAS+alliance include Mitsui O.S.K.
